SPEAKING SKILL...




HOW TO MAKE MATERIALS FOR SPEAKING SKILL



TYPES OF ACTIVITY:
  • Role plays
  • ·        Watching videos without sound and having a          discussion about the main topic of them.
  • ·         Describing pictures with specific problems.
  • ·        Interactive games using the speaking skill.


STRATEGIES:
1.     Study the vocabulary related to the discussion topic, for example: The adjectives ( If you want to compare something) and the most common
professions in Bogota ( If you want to talk about job opportunities in Bogota).
2.     Watch news and get updated.
3.     Try to watch an interesting movie without subtitles 
                      and share your comments about it with your partners.




   TIPS:

·        Try to use funny silent movies for example: Charles Chaplin.

·        Look for images about  different problems ( environment, insecurity, employment) on the newspaper

·        Use games such as: clue, hangman, guess who.

·        Try to make activities which include motivation and rewards for the students.

·        Use real situation for teaching your students and enhancing their knowledge and reaching your goal for the class.









Watch a film without sound and try to explain the situation which happened and the possible ending of it. (Choose a film which they do not know).

WHOLE LANGUAGE- LESSON PLAN

ACTING FOR GUESSING

MAIN GOAL:
To interact to another person for sharing their daily activities.

LANGUAGES FOCUS: Present Simple.

OBJECTIVES:

  1. You will be able to describe your own routine.
  2. You will be able to use different vocabulary
  3. You will be able to interact with other classmates.


Procedure:

Warm-up: ( 10-15 Minutes)
Each one has a piece of paper,they have to write five sentences related to their own routine. Next, the teacher collect them and put them into a bag. Then, a student has to drop a piece of paper out of the bag and he has to guess who the person is; if he do not guess, other student will have to try to discover the person.

Activities: ( 1 Hour 15 Minutes)
Each one has to describe his own routine in 15 phrases, next, they have to put them on the table the teacher will mix them and he will give one routine to each student, different from theirs. Then, each one has to make a mimic with the routine that he has and he should use the pictures related to the period of the day ( morning, afternoon, and night), so that, other students understand him.

Closing: ( 15 Minutes)
Everyone has to read their routine and we will realize  who does specific activities in a day. Next, teacher will explain about structure of present simple and some special cases of it.


ASSESSMENT: Table or chart evaluating grammar and pronunciation.


HOMEWORK: Write the routines of your family and your friends

DIRECT METHOD- ACTIVITY

COOKING AND LEARNING


AIMS:
  1. Using realia or some pictures for improve the speaking skill at the moment of explain the meaning of the corresponding image.
  2. Encouraging the students for having self- confidence at the speaking moment.
  3. Creating a new space in order to promote speaking and listening skills through specific activities and situations.

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Try to describe each one picture with your own words.



2. Then, you have to write a recipe with the before pictures.


FEEDBACK:

  • Asking about new vocabulary and their correct use in the recipe.

LANGUAGE FOCUS

Vocabulary about food. It includes vegetables, meat, cereals, fish, species and some verbs using for cooking.
